These DVDs are great. I am a advanced level player, and am frequently in the money in my local Vegas tournaments. I used to be rated a 7 in TAP league (The highest rating at the time, not sure about today)when I played leagues years ago. I can run racks. I'm also a cue maker. I have a 9' Brunswick GC at home. I have tons of DVDs and books on pool. There is material that is unique, then there is material where the publisher just makes a cookie cutter how to play pool video, to make a quick dollar. Freddy's dvds and books are keepers. Unlike alot of dvds and books that seem to repeat the same crap, and may have one nugget of AH-HA in the whole book/dvd, the shots and techniques in his DVDS are unique, and give great information. This is a banking DVD (Why would a banking dvd need to show a diamond system, are you a rookie? Seriously, why are rookies always obsessing over the so called "Diamond System", BTW there are MANY different diamonds systems and gimmicks, some better than others, for this I'd recommend the Monks 202 series, or the billiards atlas series). These DVDS shows practical specific banks that can show up in one pocket or bank pool, also even though you may never have to shoot some of these shots, it will teach you some of the nuances to pool. If you are a beginner or intermediate player, your money is better spent learning the fundamentals of stroking and positioning. IMHO you're wasting your time with this info if you have a crappy stroke, because banks have LOTS of nuances. Also, I'd recommend you buy his other DVD set to learn banking basics before this set. In this set he shows and tells you exactly what you need to see and know to make these bank shots. This type of information can't be spoon fed. There is no EXACT way to hit any of these banks, and kudos to the Beard for not pretending that there is. Tables have differences, pool cues themselves have differences.... Type Of Cloth, Stretch of cloth, humidity, temperature, rail type, dead rails, shaft deflection, shaft weight, shaft curve, cue ball weight, cue ball material, tip softness, etc, etc.. Also I thought the video quality was excellent, very crisp, new, and not grainy. I believe that he honestly wants to help people, and shares a bunch of good information and shares some good stories, unlike alot of stuff these days where the instructor gets a cut from some production company to put out a crap video, so they can both make a quick buck spewing out the same crap as a million other videos. Sorry for the rant, but I saw these videos with only a 2.5 stars which is absurd. Then I read the reviews, and it seems like reviews from people that shouldn't even be buying advanced material, and not giving this material the respect it deserves.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Banks that don't go but do DVD
By Ruben from Upland, Ca on June 30, 2011
While I was impressed with the knowledge of the author and many of the techniques I felt that there was too much what I would call repetition. The same shot done a little differently. Vol 2 was a disappointment because it almost mirrored Vol 1.
Not sure if I would recommend it or not.

The Beard's DVDs
By Scott Henry from Wadsworth, OH on September 26, 2010
This and Banking with the Beard The Movie are somewhat demonstrative, but short on instructional details. Needed and missing are overhead views of his shots. You can't even see the cue tip contact point. It is always hidden by the ball itself. Because of the lack of details, it is frequently hard to duplicate the shots demonstrated (doing what he SAYS). One can benefit from considering the tips of English, quarter diamond, and quarter ball fractions, but you have to be creative using your own style, while accepting what works and what seems impossible using some of his tip combinations. He's a great player, but suffers in the instructional end of things. I will keep trying to apply these concepts, though, hoping that growing skill will finally bring them to my reach!
