Hard tip
By Ken from Gold Canyon, AZ on February 20, 2013

Previously had a Tiger Sniper tip on my cue and decided to try the Onyx because it is supposed to be a bit softer than the sniper. Took me quite awhile to shape the tip. I like the tip but don't notice much difference between it and the Sniper. Both are very good tips. Had the Sniper on my cue for three year and no mushrooming.

The Best Cue Tip You Can Buy
By Thomas from Austin, TX on October 11, 2012

I think the Tiger Onyx is the best tip you can buy. I've been hitting one for over a year and I like it better than the Kamui tips - those are good tips too. The boar hide Onyx tips just seem to grip the cue ball better. Sometimes I intentionally run racks where I don't chalk for 3 or 4 racks. The tip gets shiny because all the Blue Diamond chalk is gone, but it still grips the cue ball pretty well even after all of that play. The feel and durability are excellent. Confidence in your shot (that you won't miscue) is so important. And I never have to pick or sand or scuff these tips. Never. Just chalk every 2 - 3 shots and play. Boar hide tips like these and the Sniper tips are the way to go in my opinion. I would not use these for breaking, but on your playing cue there's nothing better.

Good alternative to Moori
By Jeannie from Lincoln, CA on July 27, 2012

If you can't fine the Moori tip (hopefully they can make a comeback) this is a good tip that holds it's shape

Solid Hit
By Brophog from Chicago on May 7, 2012

Just had installed on a new cue. Once installed, it is more of a dark blue color than the black it shows when it arrives. The hit is a solid, compressed sort of hit right out of the gate.

Great Tip
By Sean from , on March 12, 2012

This tip is just like the sniper. I am not sure which one i like better but they are definitely very close. I have this tip on my back-up shaft for one of my shooting cues that i use more often when i am playing around. It has held up very well and hasn't mushroomed even after hitting very hard and playing around, as well as massee and trick shots. Very good tip and well worth the money! would buy again

great so far
By Seth from Hyannis, MA on January 25, 2012

haven't had it long, but so far its great. if the rumors are true, that it's a sniper that doesn't harder over time, it'll be a dream come true. i'm a huge sniper fan, and all i want is a softer sniper. looks like i found it!

Graduated from Sniper
By Donny from City Lights, WA on January 14, 2012

The Tiger Sniper, up until now, has been the only tip my custom (extra long) old-style Predator shaft has liked. I remember once trying 5 type high-end tips in 2 weeks once. Sniper won out, stayed un-mushroomed for my hard English type shooting style. But one day my game demanded a slightly softer tip, but like the Sniper in all other ways. So I ordered this Onyx based on mostly Tiger's advertising pitch, which is awful strong sometimes. I have yet to put this on my shaft, will do it in a week or so, then will write you all back again. I just want a bit more controllable draw, short, medium and long draw shots. Snipers get quite hard over long periods of use, like years. I'm hoping this is it. If not, I know the tip I'll try next and it costs more than this one. Looking forward to success here. I'm a really picky player as far as equipment is concerned. I can't shoot with a broomstick like Sarge Ainsworth and his wife do in demonstrations. I need every advantage I can get, don't you?

great tip
By Pete from Nashville on August 9, 2011

I installed this tip on a friend's Meucci red dot cue and he is extrememly happy with it. Prior to this tip he had a solid tip. Tip holds chalk well and has help him eliminate miscues.

Awesome Tip
By Trevor from Marquette, MI on August 4, 2011

I have been shooting with a Tiger Sniper on my Predator Z2 for a while now. When I had to get my last tip replaced I decided to order myself an Onyx and give it a try and I love it. I get just as much spin and control out of my game with this tip as I did with the Tiger Sniper.

Tiger Onyx Laminated Medium Pool Cue Tip ~ Excellent Quality
By Eugene from Clovis, CA on February 10, 2011

This Tiger Onyx laminated pool cue tip is top notch. It hasn't mushroomed and has kept its shape well. It takes and holds chalk, control and performance is fantastic - taking applied English well, and it gives a solid hit like a medium hard tip.
