Eventually you will have to replace your scuff pads and these work well.

This is another good quality tip scuffer that is in combination with a joint protector 5/16x14 thread. At $0.32 a disc you can't go wrong. It's made from good durable abrasive material with an adhesive backing for easy replacement.
